Best advice for the disturbance-minded individual who doesn't want the party to end at bar time in downtown La Crosse and who, in fits of alcohol-fueled aggressiveness, seeks to put into headlocks various individuals of likewise drunken composure: Don't run from police. Matthew Ewing would have done well to heed that advice early Friday morning. But he ran instead. And, after hot-footing through the downtown, and jumping off a rooftop, twenty feet below, was targeted by a taser-wielding officer intent on order. Those probes missed. But the cop didn't miss twice and the 23 year-old Ewing was stopped, arrested and locked up for his headlocks and his outstanding warrants.
