LOCAL IMPACT OF STIMULUS PLAN ONE YEAR LATER

Yesterday was the one year anniversary of the 787 billion dollar federal recovery act. Also known as the stimulus bill. County administrator Steve O'Malley says state's benefitted more than local units of government. But, there was a positive trickle down effect according to O'Malley because money coming from the feds helped state's provide funding for programs that help kids, families and people in need. O'Malley's reaction to critics of the stimulus plan? He challenges them to come up with something more effective to jump start the economy.
