Grant Money For Cops Fighting Booze Abuse
A whole lot of grant money coming to La Crosse cops via the Wisconsin DOT. Police in the county and city have collected 114 thousand dollars in grants to deal with speeding, alcohol enforcement and alcohol abuse reduction among kids. La Crosse cops have collected another couple thousand dollars to try and reduce the number of crashes between cars and bicycles and cars and walkers. The grants are, in part, funding some overtime hours for cops for so-called high visibility enforcement efforts that begin this week-end.
