BUDGET COMMITTEE PASSES A PROPOSAL FOR THE NEXT BIENNIUM
A committee puts the final touches on a state budget proposal. Republican Mike Huebsch says this is one of the worst budgets he's seen in his 13 years in the Wisconsin legislature. The West Salem lawmaker points out that this budget increased from 56 billion to 62 billion dollars this time around. He can't understand how democrats can justify that kind of growth in government spending when most taxpayers are struggling to pay their own bills. But, with a democratic governor and a majority in both houses of the legislature it will be almost impossible for republicans to prevent this budget from passing.
