Credit Counselor: Tales of Financial Woes Increasing

Was a time when those filing for personal bankrupcy protection went under after mounting credit card and medical bills. Different situation now, says Ken Smith with Consumer Credit Counseling Service of La Crosse. He says bankruptcy filings are now more often triggered by home foreclosures than overwhelming credit card debt. Smith says he's already seen 12 hundred new clients in his office this year. About triple the number that he might have counseled just a couple years back.
