A La Crosse man is the only person still missing from a group of four people whose SUV crashed into the Mississippi in Winona this weekend.

Andrew Kingsbury was riding with two childhood friends from Lanesboro in a vehicle driven by a Winona woman.

The bodies of the driver and one passenger were found when the SUV was removed from the river on Sunday.  A third victim was found in the water Monday afternoon...identified as Blake Overland of Stewartville.  A door of the vehicle was missing and windows were broken, leading to speculation that Kingsbury and Overland might have escaped from the SUV after the crash.

The La Crosse County Health Department has issued a public health alert to remind people to stay indoors. For people needing shelter, accommodations have been expanded at both the Salvation Army and the La Crosse Warming Center.

The City of La Crosse and the La Crosse Center have opened the doors of the South Hall for overnight and daytime warming. People needing to get out of the cold for a few hours or a few nights can enter the center through the South Hall entrance on 2nd Street.

The La Crosse Area VOAD has mobilized the resources of its membership to provide cots, blankets, food, and volunteers to accommodate overnight shelter from the cold between the hours of 5:00 PM through 8:00 AM for tonight and Tuesday night. The La Crosse Center will welcome families and individuals.
