Town Of Onalaska Will Try Second Petition

Written by

It only took a few minutes to settle on a new strategy...

Officials from the town of Onalaska spoke with their lawyer at a special meeting today, and decided to make a second try at incorporation. He and Aaron Thompson were busted in March on charges of selling crack to a police informant. The two are suspected of collaborating with Ernest Knox, who is now facing federal charges because of area drug activity.

Just about a foot to go until flood stage in La Crosse...

Weather forecasters are predicting that the Mississippi will get to 12 feet in La Crosse by next Tuesday or Wednesday. The water was almost up to 11 feet late this morning. The Mississippi is now a foot-and-a-half above flood stage upstream at Wabasha, and should get to flood level at Winona tomorrow.
