Does the city of La Crosse have enough park land? This week, city councilman jim Bloedorn suggested as much, saying that developing part of the experimental forest near Hixon Forest might be a better use for the land than permanently designating it as a city park
Although La Crosse has owned the experimental forest for nearly fifty years, it's never been officially designated as park land.
The 6th Annual Lacrosse Dancing with the Stars, held last Saturday, was a huge success according to organizers.
Cheryl Hancock of the Scenic Bluffs Chapter of the Red Cross says the move to the Lacrosse Center was a huge part of the success.......going from 800 in the audience last year to 2000 this year.
Wisconsin became the 49th state that allows residents to carry concealed weapons a month ago. And there, still, are no rules in place at the Lacrosse Center when it comes to carrying concealed weapons. No problems have been reported there.....but the center board needs some direction says Art Fahey.
The Lacrosse City Council does not meet until next week to consider a veto override of Mayor Matt Harter's decision to veto the concealed carry ordinance....and Fahey says the board wants some direction now. They meet today at 4pm.
