The La Crosse Courthouse clears out in the middle of the afternoon...

Offices and courtrooms in the building were evacuated around 2:30, as fire trucks were called to the building, and police cars blocked off Vine Street in front of the courthouse entrance. Investigators aren't saying why the building was evacuated, but according to one source, a caller to the courthouse claimed to have discovered plans to blow up the building.

There scooping them up like hotcakes. They are Rose Bowl tickets and if you want one.....you better look deep into your bank account.

The Badgers said they had to scrap plans for a general public sale, because of a strong demand from season-ticket holders and donors to the Wisconsin athletic program. He says you have no idea who you are buying from and face to face transactions are always safer. He also says use a credit card when purchasing any form of travel, especially Badger Bowl tickets.

The face value for Rose Bowl tickets is $145.

Representative Ron Kind voted yesterday to permanently extend tax cuts for middle-income families and small businesses to help spur economic growth and provide assistance during these tough economic times.

 

He says the Middle Class Tax Relief Act of 2010 is a critical step in providing economic security and stability for millions of Americans.

For all families and small businesses making less than $250 thousand a year, the bill permanently extends the 2001/2003 tax cuts, including current tax rates. The bill also permanently extends small business expensing, allowing businesses the ability to grow and create jobs.

The Wisconsin State AFL-CIO, working families and a local legislator are calling on Congress to, again, approve a one year emergency extension of unemployment insurance.

Never before has Congress allowed unemployment insurance to expire when so many people are looking for work but unable to find jobs. But instead of focusing on working families, the newly-elected GOP Congress is pushing to pass tax cuts for millionaires by extending the Bush tax cuts for those making over $250 thousand.
