Kember Announces Retirement

Superintendent Jerry Kember announced to his staff this morning that the 2010-11 school year will be his last as head of the School District of La Crosse.

Kember came to the School District of La Crosse in 1989 as the Supervisor of Fine Arts, was the Associate Superintendent of Instruction from 1999-2003 and has served as the district’s Superintendent of Schools since 2003.

Kember was named the Wisconsin State Superintendent of the Year in 2010. He says he plan's to continue to be an advocate for children, families and the entire La Crosse community.
