Alternate Side Parking Experiment, Year Two
Last year should be considered a test year for suspending alternate side parking rules in an area around UW La Crosse.
This year: Another test year. City public works director Dale Hexom says that's because last winter only had a few snow emergencies and ended abruptly. And that, he says, wasn't enough to determine if lifting regular alternate side parking rules was a process they wanted to keep permanently.
In the exempt area, cars only have to adhere to alternate side parking rules during events like snow emergencies, leaf pick-up and street sweeping.
