Fire Department Asks for Snow Clearing Around Hydrants

It's not that the La Crosse fire department doesn't know where the fire hydrants are in the city.  It's just that firefighters would rather not spend precious minutes digging them out while a fire is actually occurring.  A little help, please, asks lieutenant Lance Tryggestad

Tryggestad says, although firefighters do have little shovels to dig out snow around a fire hydrant when they have to, in the event of a blaze, doing so means some other job isn't getting done.
