Targeted Zoo Home to La Crosse Transplants

The home of two former residents of La Crosse is under fire from the feds.  Patience and Prudence, two bears in their twenties who lived at the Myrick Hixon park zoo, were sent to the privately-owned Cricket Hollow Zoo in Manchester after the local zoo closed a few years ago.   That transfer was among several that were done to move the zoo's animals to new homes as Hixon transformed into the current Eco-park.  Now Cricket Hollow's owners are under fire for some unhealthy conditions.  Inspectors from the U.S. Department of Agriculture have cited the zoo for unhealthy levels of animal and food waste in cages and inadequate staffing.  Cricket Hollow's owners have paid thousands in fines.
