South Branch Of La Crosse Library Targeted For Closing

Three branches may be one too many these days for the La Crosse Public Library...

The library board is ready to shut down the South Branch on 16th Street next year, in a cost-cutting move. James Cherf sits on both the city council and the library board. He says in the past, the library has been able to find money aside from tax dollars to maintain an endowment.  But Cherf says the library has reached the point where it doesn't have the funding to keep all of its programs going.
