Transportation Fund Referendum Vote

There won't be an advisory referendum on the ballot dealing with the state transportation fund.  Last night the LaCrosse county board voted on placing the referendum on the ballot to give voters a chance to tell the state how they feel about continuing raids on the transportation fund.  Most felt it was a positive move to stop the state from taking money away from road maintenance.  A minority of board members didn't want to see the state's hands tied when they're dealing with tough budget decisions.  The vote came up short of the 2 thirds majority necessary to get the referendum on the November ballot.
