Rescinded Residency Requirements Leave Questions for La Crosse

Now, the city of La Crosse will have to convince employees to live within city boundaries. Until the state budget was signed in the last few days, there were residency mandates in place for many city workers.  City council finance and personnel committee chair Audrey Kader hopes employees see the value of living in the city

The state budget mostly lifted residency rules throughout the state.  Police and fire employees will still have to live within 15 miles of the government for which they work.
