Hit-And-Run Suspect Now Jailed, 3 Weeks After Fatal Crash

A Holmen man could be in court today on a homicide charge, resulting from a hit-and-run crash last month...

Damien Mracek has been arrested, and is now in the La Crosse County jail, with bond set at 100-thousand dollars. Police say Mracek ran from the scene of a crash near Bangor on May 22nd, after his car hit another vehicle head-on. The other driver, 75-year-old Darel Skolos, never regained consciousness, and died more than a week after the accident. Besides the homicide charge, Mracek could be charged for violating probation in another case.
