Democrats Want More School Aid
If the budget were signed, sealed and delivered today, schools would get about $150 per student. Not what state democrats wanted though.
Senator Jennifer Shilling says the budget proposes to increase general aid to public school districts by $129 million over the next two years: $43 million in 2014 and $86 million in 2015. The Joint Finance Committee planned its final meeting on the budget tomorrow before sending the two year spending plan to the Assembly and Senate.
