Onalaska Town Board Goes For Village Designation

They want to join the ranks of Holmen, Bangor, and West Salem...

Leaders of the town of Onalaska are ready to seek village status. The Onalaska town board got the green light to pursue incorporation in a closed session on Thursday. Town chair Rolly Bogert says he's hearing unanimous support from town residents for the move.  One big reason for incorporation would be to maintain the community's tax base. The effort comes after a controversial vote by Holmen to annex a church that has been in the village of Onalaska.
