State Rep. Says Mayo Vote Was Right Vote
Did it really matter what side voted for the Mayo Clinic to recieve state money? State Rep. Gene Pelowski from Winona says no.
The state will give the System over $300 million for future plans Mayo has. Currently, Mayo has roughly 32 thousand employees in Minnesota, which makes it the largest private employer in the state. About a third of Rochester's residents work at the clinic. Mayo officials estimate the proposed expansion will add between 40 and 45 thousand new jobs to the southeastern Minnesota region in the next two decades.
