Police Could be Under Additional Scrutiny

It hasn't been passed by the full legislature.  But, a move to force all police departments to add equipment to track racial profiling is moving closer to reality.  Yesterday, the legislative budget committee approved the plan.  Assembly democrat and former Onalaska cop Chris Danou says larger departments will have the equipment on hand to make the change without much expense.  He feels smaller police stations could face a challenge paying for the additional profiling technology. Danou doesn't believe this is an issue in western Wisconsin.  But, race is an issue between cops and residents living in the southeast portion of the state.
