Shots Fired Call Turns Out To Be Balloons

A report of shots fired on the campus of Western Technical College this afternoon brought out some tense moments for area police.

The call came in shortly after 5pm when it was reported that shots were fired in room 105 of the Coleman Center, where 12 people were. After police responded and cleared the room, the report was the shots had came from the 2nd floor. Police were then informed it was students popping balloons on the 3rd floor. Police cleared the floor and scene just after 5:30.
