City Seal Changes Would Occur Over Time

A new city seal for the city of La Crosse won't be something that comes right away.  Former councilman John Satory has proposed changing the city's seal in order to add an airplane, a nod to the contribution that the city's airport has made to the local economy.  Although the city council is expected to agree to the change at a meeting tonight, don't expect immediate changes.  The proposed legislation would allow for the seal to be altered in all of its current forms over a long period of time.  Whenever the city gets a new squad car or when the treasurer's office runs out of envelopes, for example.  Satory expects little cost to the city, although there will likely be some cost for a professional design of the seal to be created.
