Blufftop Shelter Gets a Boost at Council Meeting

A 350 thousand dollar trailhead shelter is bound for the top of Hixon forest in La Crosse.  The city council has approved building a facility for users of the trails in the bluffs above the city.  Not a universally loved idea

Neighborhood activist Randy Magno believes the money would be better spent in the city's paint and fix up program.  The 350 thousand dollars comes from a settlement with the Mississippi Valley Conservancy in a dispute over the MVC's use of state and local money to conserve bluffland.
