Beer Garden Request Surge Expected to Diminish

Suddenly, drinking outdoors is all the rage in La Crosse. Beer garden permit requests are coming fast and furiously in the city. To be expected, says county Tavern League president Mike Brown. Although he doesn't think the rush of requests for beer gardens will last.   Brown says there's only so many taverns that have enough outdoor space to have a beer garden.   A surge in beer garden requests in the city are coinciding with an indoor workplace smoking ban that's coming statewide on July 5th.
