Regent Says Reserve Fund Is A Good Fund

The pressure on the University of Wisconsin System to freeze tuition increased this week.

Governor Scott Walker plans to revise his budget to call for a freeze and Democrats are joining with Republicans to block any increase. But UW System Regent Brent Smith says he feels the reserve account being picked a good one.

The governor's budget proposal revision, which could go to lawmakers in the next ten days, comes in light of reports that UW has $650 million in reserves.
