Kiskin Fired; Reasons Why Finally Released
More details today as to why Assistant City Attorney Pete Kiskin was fired by
the City of La Crosse.
In an email from the city, it was disclosed that Kiskin engaged in a personal and sexual relationship at work while using City resources including inappropriate emails; insubordination, engaging in disparaging and derogatory emails at work using City resources, breaching confidentiality, abuse of authority, wasting city time and resources for non-city matters during paid work time and failing to protect his city computer password, which enabled a co-worker to access confidential Legal Department records.
The City strongly denies any allegations by Kisken of retaliation and discrimination.
Mayor Tim Kabat stated that he has confidence in the investigation conducted by city staff and that the steps taken were in the best interests of the taxpayers.
