Man Nabbed By FBI In Lax May Be Chicago Gang Member

We now know the name of the man arrested in La Crosse yesterday, during an FBI raid.

Fifty-year-old Walter Blackman, also known as 'Gangster,' of Gary, Indiana was picked up Thursday morning at a house on Verchota Street. A statement by the FBI identifies Blackman as one of 18 persons associated with the Black Disciples street gang facing federal charges in a drug and weapon investigation. He appeared yesterday before a magistrate judge in Chicago, and is being jailed without bond. Blackman's brother, Ken Blackman, is still at large, but he may not have been in the La Crosse area. One other suspect was arrested in Wisconsin, in the Kenosha area.
