3 School Referendums Pass.....One Fails
An almost $5 million school referendum
passed in De Soto Tuesday, with 59% of voters saying yes. The district has crowding problems in its middle/high school. The district has plans to expand the gym, cafeteria and library.
64% of Blair-Taylor voters said yes to a $17 million school referendum. The monies will fund a new elementary school near the district’s high school.
Who ever said every vote counts was right. In Cashton, a $12.3 school million referendum passed Tuesday by 2 votes out of 774 while a $100 thousand, 1 year recurring referendum lost by 10 votes out of 768. Superintendent, Brad Saron told us last week that the referendum would pay for upgrades to the elementary and middle/high school, including an addition to the elementary school that includes new classrooms and a cafeteria.
In Arcadia, a $23 million school referendum was voted down by a count of 699 no votes and 563 yes votes.
