New Program to Tackle Homes in Distressed Neighborhood

About 20 homes in a struggling neighborhood are in line for a little sprucing.  A partnership with Gundersen Lutheran, the city of La Crosse, CouleeCap and other groups has hatched a plan to utilize volunteer labor for doing some fixing at homes in the Powell-Hood-Hamilton neighborhood.  It's the kind of effort that says a lot about a neighborhood, says CouleeCap's Amanda Acklin

As part of a larger plan, Gundersen and the city are also devising a larger, TIF-financed project to do some revitalization in the neighborhood.
