With all of the frac sand mines going up in the area, is there anything else

out there that could steal the thunder from he extra fine sand, which is plentiful in the bluffs of southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin? State Senator Kathleen Vinehout says possibly.

Last session Vinehout introduced two frac sand mining bills aimed at alerting neighbors when frac sand mining firms seek permits and forcing public hearings during the approval process. Both bills, however, died in committee. Now with five more bills introduced, she feels there's a lot more support now that there are more mines.
