Council to Vote on Camera Support
The private fundraising is already occurring for a new security camera system for downtown La Crosse, but the city council won't decide whether to support the initiative until next month. And city council president Audrey Kader believes that decision should be a pretty easy one. Despite future costs that could be incurred by the city to operate the system. A group is trying to raise over four hundred thousand dollars to purchase dozens of cameras for the downtown. Once they're installed, the cameras will be under the control of the city police department.
