Seems as though the possible closing of the air control towers at the Chippewa Valley Regional Airport and the La Crosse Municipal Airport would go well beyond an economical situation. That according to Congressman Ron Kind.

Kind also says, at both airports there will be a lack of radar coverage and the inability to serve as a divert airport, or reliever airport, in cases of emergency or inclement weather. He has written the FAA voicing his concerns about the closures.
