Safety Upgrades for Intersections on the Way

Cars and pedestrians frequently come into conflict around UW-La Crosse.  Last September, a student from China died after getting hit by a car on La Crosse street.  A nearby intersection is one that is targeted by the city for some safety improvements.  Hopefully to bring some awareness to drivers as well as pedestrians, say city public works director Dale Hexom...

In September, 23 year-old Jing Gu apparently darted out into traffic at night and was hit even though the driver of the car slammed on the brakes to avoid her.  She was not in the crosswalk.
