Council to Vote on New Food Cart Rules
Food cart owners in downtown La Crosse will likely have to sell a few more hot dogs to break even after this month. The city council votes tonight on new regulations for carts which include a fee on top of the regulatory fee already charged by the county. Originally proposed at a hundred dollars. Which is simply too high, says city council member John Satory
If passed by the full council in its current form, the hot dog vendors would wind up paying a fifty dollar city permit fee. They would also face new limits on hours of operation as well as work under new regulations about picking up trash around the carts.
