Nelson Likes The Republican Tone
A pair of Republican senators, last week, called for an increase of $150 per student in each of the next two years. Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald was initially noncommittal, but this week he said there is no doubt spending will be allowed to increase. That's music to La Crosse School Superintendent, Randy Nelson's ears.
Governor Scott Walker's budget did not allow for any increase. Fitzgerald says he doesn't know just how much it will be allowed to go up.
