The process of handing over marsh land to the DNR will likely take several more weeks in La Crosse city hall.  Part of what has to be negotiated is whether the city will hold on to land to make way for a future north south road through the marsh.  Even though a new master plan from the La Crosse Area Development Committee says the development of new roads should be avoided

Tom Faella is executive director of the Committee.   Despite the apparent inconsistency with the long range plan, Faella thinks the city is wise to hold on the to the marsh corridor for a possible road project in the long term.
