Marsh Transfer to DNR Getting Closer
The city of La Crosse is getting closer to handing over several hundred acres of land to the DNR. The city has packaged up a few dozen separate parcels of land that will be transferred to the natural resources agency in the next couple of months. The city is following through on a transfer plan that goes back to the original battle and subsequent referendum on a road marsh in the late nineties. The two sides will negotiate the transfer at a meeting next week.
