Copper Thieves Gut House on Copeland

A for sale sign on the front of a house on Copeland avenue in La Crosse was apparently all the invitation that thieves needed to strip the place of the copper inside.  Cops say a realtor showing the house near Monitor street this week-end was surprised to find all the copper tubing and much of the electrical wiring had been cut out of the house by thieving scrappers.  The house is owned by the feds and had been for sale for the last two months.  The copper could be worth a few bucks but the damage inflicted by the thieves will come to thousands of dollars.
