Snow Disposal Emergency Tonight Could Lead to Towing

La Crosse's first ever snow disposal emergency tonight can largely be blamed on college students.  City public works director Dale Hexom has declared the snow emergency tonight, putting into motion new rules that allow cars parked on the wrong side of the street to get towed.  Hexom says he likely would not have made the move had snow plows been able to get through the alternate side parking exempt area around UWL last night.  That area had been alerted to the need to adhere to the parking rules

The snow emergency rules also allow for a tripling of alternate side parking fines.
