Ice Not Always Great for Driving

Out there on the ice, they're dropping through like... cars and trucks.   In the La Crosse area in just the last few days there's been a half dozen vehicles that have taken a plunge into river waters after treading on thin ice.  It's been a pretty weird year for that kind of thing, says Bill Yearman, from the DNR.  But it's always a few every year

Yearman says driving on river ice can be extremely unpredictable because currents and depths of the water can make for dangerous variables.
