No one really knows if Governor Scott Walker slashed funding for schools last year or saved them money. Media reports have that gate still swinging. No matter what the case was, Walker says he is ready to let schools compete for money after the budget comes out next month.

He said last week in La Crosse that the performance of schools will be based off of school report cards that came to light late last year.
