Schodeberg Waives Preliminary Hearing In Crash Death Case

A Sparta man arrested for a fatal 2009 crash that killed his older brother waived a preliminary hearing in Monroe County this morning. 26 year old Jason Schodeberg is in the Monroe County Jail on a charge of homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Schodeberg denied being the driver in the July 26 single vehicle crash that killed his 30 year old brother, Glenn Schodeberg, on Hwy. 33 in Cashton.

Police accuse Schodeberg of running away after the crash, while his brother was pinned beneath the car. DNA results from airbags revealed that Schodeberg was the driver, and a crash reconstruction and witnesses who came forward this year helped corroborate the evidence. A future court dare has not yet been set.
