Medicare Scam Warning from Madison

A warning for seniors about Medicare scams in Wisconsin.   The scams have increased substantially since talks of the fiscal cliff started, feeding off fears of losing medicare benefits.  Typically, the scam starts with a cold call to you and ends with a grifter getting your banking info

Sandy Chalmers heads the state consumer protection office.  Her reminder to seniors is that representatives from agencies like Medicare will never call asking you for personal info.  Best defense is to simply hang up when the call comes in.
