Deputies Squad Hit

A Vernon County squad car was hit Monday morning, as it was parked along a

roadway. The deputy driving the car was stopped to help out at another accident scene. Just before noon, Monday, 1:35 AM, in the Town of Viroqua, 23 year old Holly Gander of Viola was on State Highway 56 when she lost control of her car on freezing pavement. It slid down an embankment, and came to rest on a concrete box culvert. Injured in the crash was a passenger, 22 year old Taylor Visgar also of Viola.

 

Just moments after deputies had arrived, a westbound vehicle driven by 19 year old Sharilyn Nelson of  Viroqua lost control while approaching the accident scene. The Nelson vehicle spun around and collided with the Sheriff’s Patrol car.

 

Nelson was not injured.
