More Talks About Holmen Fire Protection Costs In 2013

For much of this year, a long-time funding arrangement for the Holmen Fire District has been argued about, among the three communities sharing costs for fire service.

As a new year starts, the same three-way funding divide is in place, although there are still efforts aimed at getting Holmen to pay more and the town of Onalaska to pay less. Meanwhile, village president Nancy Proctor in Holmen says a new pumper will be added soon.  Before the pumper is ready, though, the village and the town of Onalaska may try to reach a final settlement of a funding formula for the three communities in the fire district.
