Remember your first driving test on the highway? It may have been nerve-wracking.

Now imagine the kind of testing snowplow drivers are required to do. Fortunately, their testing may be safer than what your average driver goes through. The Minnesota DOT takes a video simulator around the state to help plow drivers practice for winter. That simulator will be brought to Rushford next week. MN-DOT spokeswoman Kristine Hernandez says the simulators save money on fuel and equipment, and gives drivers an idea of how to handle snow, wind, and emergencies on the road.
