Pressure Is On For Health Exchange
Earlier this week, Wisconsin’s Democrats in Washington warned that it would be difficult for Wisconsin to change its mind in the future about creating a health care exchange if it lets the federal government design them now. But Governor Walker has questioned how flexible the states can really be. State Senator Kathleen Vinehout, says the pressure to create one is growing.
The Alma Democrat says at least 17 states and Washington DC are setting up their own exchanges. Ten others have decided to let the federal government do it for them. Wisconsin is still up in the air. States must submit a letter by Friday stating their intentions but they can take until December 14th to submit blueprints that explain their plans.
