Franciscan House Razing in Front of Council Committees this Week

This week, the La Crosse city council will begin tackling more parking. This time, the city is getting asked to weigh in on whether Franciscan Skemp can tear down six houses for parking and green space. Not the nicest houses, says Tim Acklin, in the city planner's office; they need some work.   The city would rather the medical center build up rather than out but the parking and green space align with Franciscan's long range planning.   The city planner's office is recommending that Franciscan Skemp get approved to take down the houses.
