ACLU Still Searching for Questions About Plate Readers
Your government. Stalking you. Essentially what the ACLU fears about hundreds of police agencies across the nation as well as the feds. Those employing automated license plate readers that track your movements by recording where and when your car is. One of the key complaints of the ACLU is security of that data. But there's far more than that, says Minnesota ACLU director Chuck Samuelson
Earlier this summer, the organization requested information from police agencies and the feds about how information from the license plate readers is gathered, stored and used. After minimal response to that request, the ACLU has now filed suit to get those questions answered.
